How to Auto-Post to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube in 2026
On this page

To auto-post videos to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts in 2026 you have three options: each platform's free built-in scheduler, a scheduler tool such as Buffer, Later or Metricool that publishes one upload everywhere, or an autopilot tool like EasyViral that makes each video and posts it on a schedule. The right one depends on whether you already have the videos.

Short answer: If you make your own videos, use the native schedulers (free) or a scheduler tool like Buffer, Publer, Later or Metricool to post one file to all three apps. If you want the videos made for you as well, use an autopilot tool such as EasyViral, AutoShorts.ai or Revid.ai.

What Are the Three Ways to Auto-Post Short Videos?

Auto-posting means a video goes live at a set time without you opening the app. There are three levels, and they differ in one thing: how much of the work is still yours.

  • Level 1, native scheduling. Free. Each app publishes a video you uploaded at a time you choose. You make every video and upload it three times.
  • Level 2, scheduler tools. Paid, with some free tiers. You upload a finished video once and the tool publishes it to all three through their official APIs.
  • Level 3, end-to-end autopilot. Paid. The tool writes, renders and publishes each video on a schedule. You choose the niche and check the output.

How Do You Schedule Posts Natively on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube?

All three platforms let you schedule for free, but each has different limits and none of them posts to the other two. These are the rules on each platform's own help pages as of October 2026.

PlatformWhere you scheduleHow far aheadCan you edit it after scheduling?
TikTokDesktop upload page or Business Suite15 minutes to 10 daysNo, delete and re-upload
InstagramInstagram app (public accounts)30 days, 25 posts a dayYes
Meta Business SuiteDesktop or appNot statedYes
YouTubeYouTube Studio or appNot statedYes, while private

TikTok: Schedule Up to 10 Days Ahead, on Desktop

TikTok's Creator Academy guide to its desktop tools, updated July 2026, says you can schedule organic posts from 15 minutes up to 10 days in advance, that scheduling is a desktop-only feature for now and is reached from the upload page or Business Suite. TikTok's original scheduler announcement adds that a scheduled post cannot be edited, only deleted and uploaded again.

  1. 1Open tiktok.com in a desktop browser, go to TikTok Studio and click Upload.
  2. 2Add the video, caption, cover and who can view it.
  3. 3Turn on the schedule option and pick a date and time up to 10 days out.
  4. 4Click Schedule. The scheduled post is visible in the app too and publishes at that time.

Instagram: Schedule Reels Up to 30 Days Ahead in the App

Instagram's help page on scheduled posts and Reels says a public account can schedule up to 25 posts a day, up to 30 days in advance, from the Instagram app. Product tags, collaborative posts, sponsored posts and fundraisers do not work with scheduled content. Older guides quote 75 days; the help page says 30 as of October 20, 2026.

  1. 1In the Instagram app, tap Create, then Reel, and choose your video.
  2. 2Add the caption, then tap More options.
  3. 3Turn on Schedule this reel and choose a date and time.
  4. 4Tap Done, go back and tap Schedule.

If you prefer a computer, Meta Business Suite can create a reel on desktop or in its mobile app and schedule it for a date and time.

YouTube: Schedule a Short in YouTube Studio

Its scheduling help page works in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app: you upload the video, choose Schedule, and set the date, time and time zone for it to go public. A Short must be up to 3 minutes long with a square or vertical aspect ratio, and on a computer you can upload up to 15 at a time.

  1. 1In YouTube Studio, click Create, then Upload videos, and choose a vertical or square file of 3 minutes or less.
  2. 2Add the title and description.
  3. 3On the Visibility step, choose Schedule and set the date, time and time zone.
  4. 4Click Schedule, then repeat for the next Short.

Native scheduling is free and the most reliable option, since nothing sits between you and the platform. The cost is time: one video means three uploads, three captions and three schedules.

Which Scheduler Tools Can Auto-Publish to TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

All the mainstream schedulers below can publish directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, but most fall back to a phone reminder for features the platforms' APIs do not offer, such as trending sounds. Prices are as of October 2026, taken from each vendor's pricing page.

Buffer and Publer: The Cheapest Way to Cover All Three

Buffer has a free plan for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time; Essentials costs $6 per channel per month on monthly billing, or $5 billed yearly. Its TikTok guide offers Automatic publishing or a reminder; posts with music or polls go out as reminders. Buffer also auto-publishes Reels and schedules YouTube Shorts.

Publer prices per social account. The free plan covers 3 accounts with 10 scheduled posts each; Professional is $5 a month for one account, or $12 a month for three, on monthly billing. It posts TikTok videos automatically with a privacy choice, and schedules YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Later and Metricool: Planning and Analytics

Later starts at $25 a month on monthly billing ($18.75 a month billed yearly) for one social set of 8 profiles and 30 posts per profile per month. Its TikTok help page says Auto Publish works for personal and business TikTok accounts with videos of 3 seconds to 3 minutes and original audio only. Later also auto-publishes Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Metricool has a free plan for one brand with up to 20 scheduled posts a month, and Starter costs from $20 a month billed yearly or $25 monthly. It auto-publishes to TikTok for personal and business accounts, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels for business or creator profiles.

SocialBee, Hootsuite and Sprout Social: Queues and Teams

SocialBee Bootstrap is $29 a month on monthly billing for up to 5 profiles. It publishes TikTok videos directly and schedules YouTube Shorts, but Reels publish directly only from Instagram Business profiles; Creator and Personal profiles get a reminder instead.

Both of these are priced for teams. Hootsuite says paid plans start at $99 for Standard and publishes to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram reels. Sprout Social Essentials is $99 per seat per month billed monthly ($79 yearly) and publishes to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Business profiles.

Repurpose.io: Post on One App, Copy to the Others

Repurpose.io works the other way round: you post on one platform and it republishes the video to the others. Starter is $35 a month for up to 3 accounts per network, and your first 10 videos are free.

How to Set Up a Scheduler Tool

  1. 1Export one clean master file: vertical 9:16, MP4 with H.264, no other app's watermark, and no longer than the shortest limit you are targeting.
  2. 2Connect TikTok, Instagram and YouTube in the tool. For automatic Instagram publishing your account must be a professional (business or creator) account.
  3. 3Upload the video once and write the caption for each platform.
  4. 4For TikTok, choose the privacy level and the comment, Duet and Stitch settings yourself. TikTok requires apps to let you pick them.
  5. 5Choose automatic publishing rather than a reminder, then pick the times.

Can a Tool Make the Videos and Post Them for You?

Yes. A third group of tools generates the video itself and publishes it on a schedule. They are built for faceless formats such as narrated stories, explainers and animated series, not for filming yourself.

EasyViral: Series That Write, Render and Post Themselves

EasyViral writes, renders and auto-posts short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. You connect TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, pick posting dates on a series, and EasyViral generates each video and publishes it at the scheduled time. Any single video can also be published with one click. No plan adds a watermark.

Plans cost $9, $24.99 and $49.99 a month (see pricing). Credits, not the daily cap, decide how many videos you get: a 30-second Faceless video costs 250 credits, so Starter's 1,750 credits make about 7 thirty-second videos a month, not a daily post. Growth makes 20 and Pro 48 at that length. There is no free trial, but you get a full refund within 14 days if you have not used any credits. Avatar videos cannot auto-publish yet, so post those yourself.

  1. 1Create a series: choose a format, a niche (38 built-in niches or your own), an art style and a voice.
  2. 2Connect the TikTok, Instagram or YouTube accounts the series should post to.
  3. 3For TikTok, save a privacy level. EasyViral needs it before it can publish, because TikTok makes apps ask you rather than assume one.
  4. 4Pick the posting dates on the series.
  5. 5Watch the first published videos and adjust the niche or style if they miss.

AutoShorts.ai, Revid.ai and FacelessReels

AutoShorts.ai sells a posting cadence: $19 a month posts 3 times a week, $39 posts once a day and $69 posts twice a day, each with one series and auto-posting to your channel. Revid.ai includes publishing to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, post stats and Auto-Mode workers in its paid plans. FacelessReels describes itself as creating and publishing faceless reels on autopilot across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. We compare these in depth in our Revid.ai alternatives and AutoShorts.ai alternatives guides.

Why Do Auto-Posted Videos Fail to Publish?

Most failures trace back to a platform's API rules rather than a bug in your tool.

  • The TikTok post went live as private. TikTok's Content Posting API restricts everything posted by an unaudited app to private viewing until the app passes TikTok's audit. Unaudited apps can also post for only 5 users in 24 hours, and those accounts must be private. If a new tool posts everything as Only me, ask whether its app is audited.
  • TikTok refused the post or said to try later. TikTok caps the posts made to one account through its Direct Post API in a 24-hour window, typically around 15 a day, and the cap is shared across every app that posts for you. Apps must also make you choose a privacy level, with no default.
  • The tool sent a notification instead of posting. Trending sounds, music and polls are not available through the APIs, so schedulers fall back to a phone reminder.
  • The account connection expired. TikTok's Direct Post reference returns an error when the access token is invalid or expired. Reconnect the account in your tool.
  • Instagram would not publish. API publishing works only for Instagram professional accounts, business or creator. Meta's content publishing guide also blocks Pages that still need Page Publishing Authorization and caps how many posts each account can publish through the API in a rolling 24-hour window.
  • The Short posted as a regular video. YouTube counts a video as a Short only if it is up to 3 minutes and square or vertical. A Short over one minute with an active copyright claim is blocked worldwide.
  • The YouTube upload failed or never went public. Each Google Cloud project gets a default of 100 video uploads a day in its own quota bucket, reset at midnight Pacific Time, and scheduled videos do not publish while the channel has a Community Guidelines strike. Older guides say uploads from unverified API projects stay private, but Google's videos.insert reference, updated October 15, 2026, says they no longer are.

Is It OK to Post the Same Video to TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes, if the video is yours and the file is clean. Instagram defines original content as content created by the same account that posts it, so your own video posted to your own accounts counts as original.

  • Remove other apps' watermarks. Instagram told creators in 2021 that Reels with a watermark or logo would be recommended less often, as The Verge reported, and its current guidance says adding a watermark is not a material edit. Export a clean master file.
  • Do not repost other people's clips. Instagram's April 2026 update makes accounts that mostly post unoriginal reels, photos or carousels ineligible for recommendations until most of their posts over 30 days are original. TikTok's developer guidelines also rule out apps that copy arbitrary content from other platforms to TikTok.
  • Fit the strictest length. A Short can run up to 3 minutes, and a Reel published through Instagram's API can run 3 seconds to 15 minutes. If TikTok income matters, TikTok's Creator Rewards terms only pay for videos of at least 1 minute.

What Does Full Automation Still Need From You?

Less than manual posting, but not nothing. Automation does not choose a niche worth watching, notice a weak video, or answer the comments that tell you what to make next. Buffer's own TikTok guide notes that high-volume automated posting produces more zero-view posts and suggests 1 to 3 posts a day with original, varied videos. Budget an hour a week to watch what went out, reply to comments and confirm each post is public.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you auto-post to TikTok for free?

Yes. TikTok's own scheduler on desktop is free and publishes a video at a set time from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. Free plans from Buffer (3 channels, 10 queued posts each), Metricool (20 posts a month) and Publer (3 accounts, 10 scheduled posts each) also auto-publish to TikTok. None of them make the video for you.

What is the best tool to auto-post videos to multiple platforms?

For finished videos, Buffer and Publer are the cheapest ways to publish one upload to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts; Later and Metricool add planning and analytics; Hootsuite and Sprout Social suit teams. If you also need the videos made, EasyViral generates and auto-posts faceless videos to all three from $9 a month, and AutoShorts.ai and Revid.ai are alternatives.

How far in advance can you schedule TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

TikTok's native scheduler allows 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. The Instagram app allows up to 30 days ahead and 25 posts a day for public accounts, according to Instagram's help page checked in October 2026. YouTube's scheduling help page does not state a limit. Scheduler tools set their own limits.

Why did my scheduled TikTok video post as private?

Usually because the app that posted it has not passed TikTok's audit. TikTok's developer rules restrict everything posted by unaudited API clients to private viewing, limit them to 5 posting users in 24 hours, and require those accounts to be private. Also check the privacy level saved in your tool, because TikTok makes apps ask you to pick one with no default.

Will cross-posting the same video hurt my reach?

Not if the video is your own and the file is clean. Instagram counts content created by the account that posts it as original. What it holds back is unoriginal content, and it said in 2021 that Reels with another app's watermark or logo would be recommended less often. Export a watermark-free master file for each upload.

Does EasyViral post to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube automatically?

Yes. You connect TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, pick posting dates on a series, and EasyViral generates each video and publishes it at the scheduled time; any single video can also be published with one click. TikTok publishing needs a saved privacy level, and avatar videos cannot auto-publish yet. Plans start at $9 a month, and Starter makes about 7 thirty-second videos a month.

Where to Start

Start with the level that matches your bottleneck. If you already make videos, schedule them natively for a week, then move to a scheduler once three uploads per video gets old. If making the videos is the hard part, try a series with the faceless video generator and watch the first batch before adding dates.
